Rory McIlroy, a professional golfer from Northern Ireland, has outlined ideas for the Masters Champions Dinner, a tradition he hopes to curate upon winning the green jacket.[1]
The dinner, started by Ben Hogan in 1952, is hosted annually by the defending Masters champion for all living past winners. It takes place on the Tuesday evening before the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.[2]
McIlroy has won four major championships: the 2011 U.S. Open, 2012 PGA Championship, 2014 Open Championship and 2014 PGA Championship. A Masters victory would make him the sixth player to achieve the career Grand Slam, joining Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.[1][3]
His best finishes at the Masters are runner-up in 2022 and fourth place in 2018.[1]
The 2025 Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 10-13 at Augusta National, a par-72 layout measuring about 7,555 yards.[4]
Recent defending champion Scottie Scheffler revealed his menu for the 2025 dinner on December 11, 2024, featuring queso with homemade tortilla chips, grilled chicken fajitas, cheese enchiladas and sopapillas for dessert.[5]
