Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga made a 75-foot three-pointer late in the third quarter during his team's 135-120 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on March 18, 2026, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The arena has been the Mavericks' home since 2001.[1]
With about five seconds left in the quarter, the 23-year-old Kuminga grabbed a rebound under the Hawks' basket, took one dribble and threw a cross-court pass toward teammate Jock Landale near the opposite rim.[2] The pass went directly through the net.
The basket was the longest by a Hawks player in the NBA play-by-play era (since the 1996-97 season) and the sixth-longest overall in that span, according to Elias Sports Bureau. It surpassed a 63-foot shot by Jason Terry on January 5, 2000.
Kuminga, born in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and a former top NBA draft pick, reacted with disbelief, placing both hands on his head.[2]
The Hawks' previous longest regular-season winning streak is a franchise-record 19 games during the 2014-15 season, from January 3 to February 26, 2015.[3]
