Trevor Lee signs MLW deal as Southern Crown champion
Trevor Lee, the MLW Southern Crown champion, has signed a deal to continue performing with Major League Wrestling. The 32-year-old wrestler, previously known as Cameron Grimes in WWE, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to compete at a high level. Lee aims to deliver elite matches and collaborate with talents from CMLL and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Lee returned to MLW for select appearances after his WWE release, including a match against Mistico at MLW Eric Bischoff’s One Shot, Battle Riot VIII in January and several Fusion tapings. He captured the Southern Crown Championship in a Bunkhouse Stampede match against Andrew Everett, Beastman, Diego Hill, Festus, Ikuro Kwon, Jesus Rodriguez, Josh Bishop, Matthew Justice and Paul Walter Hauser.
Lee joins a roster that includes other former WWE performers such as Matt Riddle, Killer Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, Shotzi Blackheart, Donovan Dijak, Austin Aries, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson. MLW founder Court Bauer brings WWE production experience to the promotion.
"I’m just excited to be able to really kind of do anything," Lee said. He praised MLW's production values and atmosphere, noting, "MLW isn’t WWE, but they’re not an indie either." Lee seeks bouts with Aries, Riddle and Dijak, along with CMLL and New Japan wrestlers, to prove he excels beyond comedy promos.
